Transportation in Rennes
The Metro line:
The Rennes metro line is the preferred means of transport to get around Rennes. It circulates every day of the year, except on May 1, from 5:10 am to 12:45 am on weekdays and until 1:45 am from Thursday to Saturday (except the summer period). On Sundays and public holidays, schedules are restricted from 7:30 am to 12:45 am. The metro passage frequency can vary from 1 min 30 to 4 mins 30.
The Bus lines:
The bus lines connect the different districts of Rennes. Three of them are labelled Chronostar (C2, C3 and C4). They benefit from an increased frequency (every 8 to 10 minutes) and take a route mainly dedicated to buses. On Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, lines 1 to 9 and 57 have their last departure from the Republic at 1h35.
The Vélostar and the electric:
The Star ( the company that manages the transport to Rennes) , offers in addition to the other means of transport, 900 bikes in self-service, located in 83 stations. To access to it, simply set up a subscription through its Korrigo card (22 to 33€ for 1 year), or by paying by credit card on one of the 10 main stations. It is also possible to subscribe to the service for 24 hours or 7 days.
With each use, the first half hour is free. Then you count 1€ for the next 30 minutes, and 2€ for the second hour, 10€ after 3 hours and 24€ after 6 hours. The fares are built for short use of the bike, with travel from one station to another.
There is also a long-term electric bike rental service. The price this time is 150€ per year, with a 30€ discount for Star subscribers.
