French Art & Culture
IESA Bachelor in the Expertise of the Art Market (Titre II recognized by the French State)
Our year-long program is aimed at students who wish to complete their undergraduate degree with a final year studying the history of French art combined with professional studies in the art market.
General background courses in French history and culture as well as French art and architecture provide a base for more detailed studies in the art market and expertise.
Studies in art business complement the historical studies with classes on professional practice such as art law or art marketing. Students are given tutorial support to develop their connoisseurship and expertise to prepare them to write a final dissertation and to prepare the final exam for the Titre II degree.
Students doing study abroad or students who wish to learn more about France before going onto university are also welcome.
The active program of visits and lectures gives students an exceptional understanding of the many aspects of French life and history.
Courses are entirely taught in English.
The program may be taken on a semester basis.

Social activities: Two day trips and a boat ride on the Seine; events during the semester with other IESA students, welcome and farewell dinners.
All these courses are taught in English.
Students may go on to work in galleries, auction houses, or cultural institutions.
Students interested in obtaining the Titre II qualification should have completed two to three years of undergraduate study, including history of art studies, and have the equivalent of a 3.0 GPA. Qualified students will be asked to pass a short written examination.
Study abroad and gap year students who will not be pursuing the Titre II should have the US GPA of 2.5 or the European equivalent of C+.
If students are non-native English speakers, they should speak sufficient English to follow the lectures and assignments.

Students will be requested to send the necessary documents later on in the admission process (like a completed and signed application form, copy of highest degree completed, copy of passport, short resume...)
In addition, all qualified applicants are required to pass an interview; interviews are conducted in English by telephone or Skype.
Applicants will receive the Admission board’s decision by post and by email. Upon admission, each candidate receives an acceptance letter.
