Galileo Global Education (formerly Studialis) is a private higher education group present in 13 European countries, as well as in Senegal, Mexico, India and China.

Galileo Global Education was born after purchasing the Istituto Marangoni (Italy) by the Providence Group in 2011 and began to self-developing by acquiring various universes schools:  Atelier de Sèvres, Macromedia in Germany, IEU in Mexico, ITM Paris.

At the same time, Studialis was developing and buying schools in different sectors: PSB, ESG, CLCF, IESA Arts and Culture in 2011; Strate design school, CLCF, Hetic Hautes études de numérique, IICP communication and journalism, Atelier Chardon Savard, until Penninghen in 2015.

  • In 2016, Galileo Global Education acquired Studialis for 250 million euros. Since then, the group continues to grow not only by buying schools but also by creating them.
  • In April 2018, Téthys Invest, a subsidiary of the holding company of the Bettencourt Meyers family, became a key shareholder of the Galileo Global Education group and takes on the board of directors alongside the American investment fund Providence Equity Partners, the majority shareholding4.
  • In May 2018, Studi a specialist in online diploma training joined the group and began developing trainings in the Digital sectors. GGE also integrates Studi schools (Comnicia, Comptalia, Ecolems and Digital Campus) into its network.
  • On 13 February 2020, the US investment fund Providence Equity Partners announced the sale of the Galileo Global Education Group for an estimated value of 2.5 billion Euros.

The current shareholders are Téthys Invest, BpiFrance, The Canada Pension Plan Investment Board & Montagu.

  • In 2020, Galileo Global Education acquired Regent’s University in London, United Kingdom.
  • In 2021, the Group acquired IPETH which is a physiotherapy school located in Mexico; LMA: Health Events, and created Eva Santé, the Training Institute for Caregivers.
  • In 2022, Galileo Global Education created ELIJE law school and bought AKAD University in Germany and TAI School of arts in Spain.
